The Tennessean.. Ignorance or Willful Blindness?

The mere idea freedom of speech is being debated in America is alarming and frightening. When it comes to the First Amendment, there is simply no room for debate. Freedom of speech is a god given right, not a privilege.  Although Muslims enjoy freedom of speech, they deplore it for two reasons.  One, it is man-made, which their god demands they adhere to only those laws created  by their god, and two,  it allows for the truth to be told about the agenda of Islam and goals of its followers.

Muslims have learned if you control the media, you can twist the narrative to fit your own agenda and you own the message delivered to the public. This also gives Muslims a platform to dispute any negative publicity on their prophet or religion without a debate.

Enter the Tennessean Newspaper.  In January of 2015, Muslims in France entered the Charlie Hebdo headquarters and  killed several people, including the editor of the newspaper, whom had previously published cartoons of the prophet Muhammad.  The Tennessean then published an op- ed piece written by a professor at Vanderbilt University which highlighted the violence of a so called “peaceful” religion. Tremendous backlash ensued for the professor, a lot in the form of comments on her opinion.

In March of 2015, the editorial board met with Muslim leaders from the ACO ( American Center for Outreach) and AMAC ( American Muslim Advisory Council). According to the new chair of the editorial board and  opinion editor David Plazas,  ” one of the things they mentioned in our discussion was that anytime there is national or international news linking Islam and terrorism, they feel on edge” .

While the content of Mr. Plazas’ article titled “Texas attack a reminder not to lump Muslims together”  is somewhat naïve,  (read article here http://www.tennessean.com/story/opinion/columnists/david-plazas/2015/05/05/texas-attack-muslims/26946965/)  it appears Mr.Plazas has no idea of who he is engaging with.

Does the Tennessean know it’s inadvertently promoting Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood?  Mr.Plazas meet Paul Iesa Galloway.

Mr. Galloway was the founding Executive Director of the Houston office of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR)

CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case–so named by the Justice Department during the Holy Land Foundation trial ( http://www.investigativeproject.org/documents/misc/360.pdf)

Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR’s Texas chapter, in 2009 received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12 million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians

Randall Royer, CAIR’s former civil rights coordinator, in 2004 began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres

Nihad Awad, CAIR Executive Director, said, “I am in support of the Hamas movement

Mustafa Carroll, executive director of the Dallas-Fort Worth CAIR branch, told a crowd at a Muslim rally in Austin, Texas in 2013 “If we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land”

Omar Ahmad, Chairman and founder of CAIR told a Muslim crowd, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth

It is quite clear CAIR is an arm of Hamas/ Muslim Brotherhood. It is quite clear Mr. Galloway aligned himself with  CAIRs ideology once he founded the Houston chapter. CAIR has also been designated a terrorist organization by the U.A.E.    Why  wouldn’t responsible journalists properly vet their own sources ?

The other mistake Mr. Plazas has made is asserting ” Too often in media and popular culture, the distinction is not clearly made between a Muslim individual and a criminal who acts on his or interpretation of Islam. They should not be lumped together because they are not one and the same.”

What Mr. Plaza doesn’t get is a Muslim that robs a bank or steals a car is a criminal, a Muslim that kills in the name of Allah and the prophet Muhammad is a Muslim that adheres to the doctrine of Islam. There is only one Islam. There is only one prophet, and there is only one Shahada. The Muslims killed in Garland TX were devout Muslims according to their Imam. Devout Muslims recite the same Shahada Mr. Galloway recites. There is only one God, and Muhammed is the prophet.

One Response to The Tennessean.. Ignorance or Willful Blindness?

  1. Mike Baldwin says:

I’m not surprised that Mr. Plazas, along with the Tennessean, were duped. The only position the Tennessean will take is pro Muslim. If your letter doesn’t support Islam you have very little chance of seeing it printed. The saving grace is that every year fewer people take the Tennessean and advertise in the paper as you can see by their layoffs of people. What really befuddles me is that if Muslims ever gained political control of the US the first folks to lose their job, if not their head, would be the editorial staff of newspapers!
